Dexters are a horned breed. Until recently there were no polled Dexters. The polled gene is something that was introduced with a crossbreed. Some choose to dehorn Dexters we do not dehorn here. Dexters have beautiful white with black tipped horns. I do have several that were dehorned prior to us buying them. We have not had any issues running the dehorned ones side by side with the horned ones. When it comes to handling cattle, horns or no horns, use common sense. Don’t put yourself in a dangerous position. Most importantly, know how to read a cow's body language.
